Review by Chris Febru(7 of 10 found this review helpful) Not an easy disc to get, but worth every penny! On the other hand, with playing this wonderful, that is a good problem to have. The sonics are good, though the violin is a little too close, considering the orchestral perspective for the complete ensemble. In that case the conductor does not agree with Hahn's conception and he just phones in his performance, so the dance rhythms never bounce and take flight. The Sibelius almost gets to the Heifetz Living Stereo performance level and is almost spot on! It has all the rhythmic vitality lacking in the recent disastrous and overly-hyped RBCD Hillary Hahn performance, which is dismal. The playing is so good and self-assuredly virtuosic it will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck! I think this performance can stand next to the Heifetz premiere recording of 1941. DO NOT MISS THIS!!! I had to order a copy from Caiman in Canada via Amazon.
